This is Jake’s story…

We knew there was something different about Jake after the 20 week ultrasound.  They didn’t know what it was but the amniocentesis came back absolutely normal.  The day Jake was born, his bent up arms straightened out and didn’t move for 6 months!  That first little twitch gave Andrea and I so much hope!  Jake has had over 25 surgeries.  Because his jaw is severely affected, he’s had a track twice in his 14 years!  He had his most major lower extremity surgery just over a year ago.  Since then, he’s progressed to walking almost 300 independent steps!  He’s active in Scouting and loves everything related to Scouting!  He plays in band at school and loves his adapted baritone horn!
